James just moved from B.C. to a school in Ontario. As a grade 8 student, moving half way through a school year, he's having a hard time adjusting to all this change. He feels the reasons for his move are private, and he's not comfortable discussing them with anyone, but people keep asking about it. He feels like after the first two weeks in his new class he doesn't want to be friends with anyone. His teacher, along with the work being assigned, seems so different from what he was doing out west. James is becoming very stressed out. Just recently, he verbally abused his bus driver on his way to school and was given a suspension.
In the story there was a grade 8 student named James who recently moved from B.C. to a school in Ontario. He was having a hard time adjusting to his new change. James doesn't want to talk to anyone about his move. The work his teacher assigned seemed to be way different from what he used to do in B.C. He was very stressed because of his move. He verbally abused his bus driver while going to school and got a suspension.
One strategy James could being to use to help with his mental health is starting to talk to his classmates. I think that if he starts talking to them they would be able to help him. Another strategy James could being to use is talking to his family. They might be able to help him.
Why does James not want to make any friends?
